About two months ago I had an idea to highlight fathers because our society does not always have the platform to show how amazing and integral fathers are to families.
I know that we celebrate mothers because it is a societal norm for women to care for their families. But, what about fathers? What do we think of them?
For me, a father is part of the foundation of a family’s whole system. Even when he is physically away from his family, he is still in the hearts and minds of his partner and his children. And, while fathers and father figures come in all types (step-father, foster dad, biological father, grandfather, uncle, coach, community leader, etc.) they all deserve to be honored and celebrated.
This is the focus of the Father’s Day Project! I brought together a few narratives for this project, but I encourage you to share your stories and your blogs as well either in the comments section or through the link-up party link below!
Blog Posts/Interviews
The following are posts that I complied for inclusion in this project. These narratives by no means span the whole spectrum of who a father or father figure is to a family. But, they are perspectives that I feel can really honor and celebrate fathers.
